Knowledge maps offer an accessible and state-of-the-art overview of a large body of information on one topic. Sustainability thinktank Het Groene Brein (The Green Brain) has currently developed three knowledge maps: on circular economy, on natural capital, as well as on food and sustainability.
Especially in fields that are developing rapidly and where there is no standard reference yet, a knowledge map establishes order within chaos. A knowledge map provides a concise overview of all available literature on one specific topic at a given point in time. Currently the three knowledge maps are updated up until October 2016.
To that end a knowledge map combines the key insights from the most prominent reports and (scientific) literature. Experts in the field, among which scientists of Het Groene Brein (The Green Brain), select and weigh these sources carefully with the aim to come to a representative and balanced selection of insights. The result is an accessible guide through a jungle of information.
