Circular PPPs and value chain collaborations

Green Deal Circular Procurement

As an example of a public-private partnership, in the Netherlands there is a frontrunner agreement between the public and private sector – the Green Deal Circular Procurement. Participants perform two pilots in 2014, share the knowledge they gain and integrate circular purchasing in their strategies and policies from 2016.

Value chain collaborations

Within the program Nederland Circulair! three value chain innovation programs were started: around health care, HVAC, and underground infrastructure. These value chains were selected based on ecologic impact, economic impact, potential for value preservation and transition potential. The aim of these value innovation programs is among others formulating a common vision on the circular economy and executing concrete transition projects. Participants in these programs include relevant stakeholders, such as manufacturers, installation and service companies, energy companies, health care institutions, financers and knowledge providers.
